Six Parts to a kids Story

1. Theme- an insight or veiwpoint that a storyconveys throughout.  Don’t blurt the theme out, let the theme emerge in the story.  Avoid preaching.  Keep it positive

2. Plot-The plot is normally built arounda conflict involving the main character.  Often the Main character must resolve.  The plot should increase tension.

3.Story Structure-At the begining jump right into the action and at the end close it slowly.

4.Characters-Know your characters thoroughly.

5.Setting-Set your story in a place and time that will be familiar and interesting.

6.Style and tone-Write Simply and Direct
