Frederick Douglas

       Frederick Douglas, thefather of the Civil Rights movement, he started as a slave, who taught himself to read and write.  Then escaping slaveryto the north, settling into New Bedford, Massachusetts.  Marrying Anna Murray,Now Anna Murray Douglas.  Douglas Advised presidents like Licoln, Rutherford.B.Hayes and Benjamin Harrison.  Douglas was an abolicionist, a notable one at that, leading black union soilders for the African American Fifty Fourth.  Douglas’s Last years as a main abolicionist were spent focused on the opposition to Lynching and Supporting Women’s Rights.  Douglas as a Writer flourished when he started His own Periodical the North Star.  Forever will Douglas be remmembered for his Work Against Slavery and His writing.
